MONTGOMERY – The Alabama Public Library Service (APLS) announced today the launch of its newly improved website. The latest iteration of the APLS website offers quick and easy access to essential information and coordinates with the agency’s recently updated logo. Initial plans for the new website began to take shape in December 2020, and it was developed in coordination with the Stamp Idea Group, based in Montgomery.

The new website has a clean, modern, and uncluttered design which improves functionality and enhances rich content focused on APLS’ role as the state library for Alabama. The new website goes live today,
May 5, 2022, and is located at the same address of the previous site: http://www.statelibrary.alabama.gov/. In addition to the modern design, the new website improvements include a robust search function and an excellent user experience on mobile devices.

“We are excited about our new website launch and the robust information it provides to the public and libraries we serve around this great state,” said APLS Director Nancy C. Pack.  “We believe that this new site will allow our visitors to have a very informative experience as we continue to best serve our state’s local libraries and the citizens of Alabama.”

APLS’ new website will be regularly updated with news, publications, events, and services. The previous version of the APLS website launched in May 2018.
